  is there a buddy mentality to protect each other and the flock and sacrifice those who make waves?

  ive gathered coming here that may be true.. the reason im asking is because my mother has found herself in a very difficult situation and im really worried for her.

  having believed the whole bible, hook, line and sinker all these years i get the impression many of you have come to the conclusion that we should take it with a pinch of salt and not hold to it so dogmatically.

  and some possibly believe in it just as much as you did when you were a witness.

  to save me some time please, lovely people, as i am very lazy - could you share with me why you do or don't believe in it - what evidence there is either way and if there are any particular books that you found helpful in coming to your conclusions?

  Right on the $! I'm taking critical thinking in college this term and that is exactly what we are covering: God must be real. How do you know? The Bible says so. Who wrote the Bible? God. How do you know? The Bible says so............................................................................ad nauseum......around and around in circles................

  Some of the Bible says really good things like be good to others. But so does your gut. My god/ess is my gut.

  some of you may remember me from last spring/summer.

  i was the one who kept begging her jw boyfriend to take her back after every breakup.

  i came back in here the other night to read some of my past posts and replies, basically to keep myself from calling him.. i moved back to my home state this summer and am teaching here and spending tons of time with my family.

  From my experience, they will chew her up and spit her out. Sorry. Better to have a male relative "talk" to him for her and keep it out of the congregation for her own reputation's sake. The elders talk to their wives. Their wives, in turn, talk to the car groups. Have a relative "communicate" to him to watch his mouth around his wife.

  Man's word because of all the hate, bloodlust, genital obsession, baby/senior citizen killing, ethnocentric, and judgemental attitudes found within. That is just what God did. Jesus did none of that. Now, if you want to talk about all of the things that God's followers did, just restate the above. It's amazing that after Jesus came to earth, God took a back seat and all of the devine killing and mutilating stopped. God and his followers hurt others. Jesus and his followers helped others. Amazing how that worked, isn't it?
